An excellent introduction to the night sky. This little book kindled my own interest in astronomy and fed me enough ‘hard’ information to stay intellectually engaged while I graduated from the simple skills such as recognising constellations and finding a few clusters with my 7 x 50 binoculars, to serious study.
Recommendation: A wonderfully engaging introduction, accessible to anyone with an interest in the sky. Most highly recommended.
Look and Feel: My (now well-thumbed) copy is the paperback edition of around 380 pages or so; good quality paper; the sky charts are excellent; the numerous b&w and colour photographs show very good reproduction. Also available in hardback.
